At ScottYacht, we understand how important boats are to their owners. We take the time to work with you prior to the delivery to ensure that everything is in place for an efficient passage. Central management means that we can keep you informed at all key stages of the passage and that experienced support is available at all times for weather, routeing, technical advice and (should it be necessary) parts logistics.

For safety and insurance reasons, a crew will normally comprise a minimum of three people (four for Ocean passages) of which at least two will be qualified to RYA Yachtmaster Offshore level. Extra crew may be provided if required: e.g. for very large or labour intensive vessels.

On joining the yacht, the crew fully prepare the vessel for sea, checking all systems and covering vulnerable surfaces to protect them. Any areas requiring attention are reported and rectified prior to departure. On passage, the boat is always sailed in a manner appropriate to the conditions and at the end of the passage the boat is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for handover. Any defects or significant maintenance are noted in a comprehensive trip report to help owners with their ongoing plans.

Whether the yacht is Sail or Power, large or small, ScottYacht have the skills to ensure a safe professional delivery. Skippers have been personally approved by the managing director, Kevin Scott following a successful trial passage and are among the most experienced in the industry. First mates are qualified to Yachtmaster level as a minimum and all crew are thoroughly vetted before being allowed onto a ScottYacht delivery.
